In a dark room across the city, the council of a criminal organization meet:
Voice 1: It seems that the police have discovered our most recent acquisition. If our intel is correct, the investigation has been set back by at least a week.
Voice 3: Good, what is our next course of action?
Voice 1: That depends on what happened with the other infiltration tonight.
Voice 3: Our fifth target was compromised. She left early for her vacation to San Fransisco with her husband.
Voice 1: DAMMIT! If you had kept on schedule then none of this would have happened.
Voice 3: Supreme, I have expressed my sincerest apologies before but the plan did not account for her sister visiting her. Our scouts overlooked that detail.
Voice 2: There was no sign of her sister's visit in any records we found. Target five did not purchase the plane tickets or mark anything in her calen-
Voice 1: Now is not the time Scoutmaster.
Voice 2: Yes, Supreme.
Voice 4: This may not be the worst change of plans. Now that the investigation is delayed why don't we take the time to find a new target. One that could delay the investigation even further or even bring it to a halt.
Voice 1: What do you suggest?
Voice 4: The fourth target was the lead investigator on our case, correct?
Voice 3: You are correct.
Voice 4: So the police must have assigned a new officer to the case, possibly even two. Why don't we scout these new officers and see if there is someone else we can target that would impede the investigation further?
Voice 1: Scoutmaster, assign your best men to the project immediately, and don't fuck up this time. We do not have time to waste, we can't let the first four develop too much or our whole plan could go off track.
Voice 2: Yes, Supreme.
Voice 1: Architect, have you begun the procedure on the first four acquisitions?
Voice 4: Yes, Supreme. All four are in prime condition.
Voice 1: Good. Be ready to stall their development if you can just in case our new plan falls through as well. We need to make sure they are all ready at the same time. Is there any unfinished business that any of you would like to address?
Voice 4: No, Supreme. That is all.
Voice 1: Then get to work.
