Chief Stanley: Calvin.
Calvin: Yes Chief?
Chief Stanley: This is Cole Mattington. He will be your partner for this case. Cole, this is Calvin, he is a private detective, but don't worry, he knows what he is doing.
Cole: It is nice to meet you Calvin.
Calvin: You can call me Cal.
Chief Stanley: Now that you two are acquainted, let's get down to the brass tacks. We have a chain of violent murders across the city. It seems that all three victims were in their mid-thirties and pregnant.
Calvin: Were the other two corpses in the same state as this one?
Chief Stanley: Yes, it seems that the perp takes unborn children as trophies. Neither of the other victims' residences showed any sign of forced entry, meaning they probably knew their killers. However, our killer seems to be getting impatient, this time he picked the lock. Our victim is Victoria Orsini, one of our own. She was 34, and before today was assigned to this case. Around 9:45 PM this evening someone broke in, and gutted her. She was found by her partner, after she didn't show up for their night shift tonight. Her next of kin are yet to be notified but I will do that myself.
Cole: Damn. I didn't know her personally but she seemed like a good person.
Chief Stanley: She was, and a great cop.
Calvin: Who is the possible suspect you mention on the phone?
Chief Stanley: The last victim's ex-boyfriend, Paul Wittan, but it is unlikely he is the killer. We couldn't find any connection to the first victim and Victoria didn't mention knowing him.
Calvin: Do we know of any connections between the victims?
Chief Stanley: Nothing yet, other than that they were all pregnant.
Calvin: Is there any other information about the case that I should know?
Chief Stanley: No, that should be it. I need you two to get this case done quick. The media still hasn't found out about it and I would like to keep it that way until the case is closed. You can have tomorrow off if you would like but after that I expect you to do nothing else until this monster is behind bars. Understood?
Cole: Yes, sir.
Calvin: Of course.
